We exist to:

The PDSC is a non-profit organization that exists to connect children of all ages to their families, communities, and the world beyond through interactive STEAM exploration.

We envision:

A future where all children can fulfill their potential and become engaged community members and global citizens, equipped with a strong foundation in science, critical thinking and creativity.

What’s in our DNA:

At Palouse Discovery Science Center children and families are the center of our work. We believe that STEAM education is a critical need for 21st century careers/living and support the development of young scientists, engineers, artists, naturalists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and above all, healthy and empathetic humans, to the fullest.

Guiding Principles:

  • Amaze guests! We offer warm hospitality, a creative and joyous environment and highly engaging exhibits and experiences. All guests feel safe, welcomed, and empowered to learn new things and create new memories -No matter if it is their first or 50th visit!

  • Model science as a process. We show science as an exciting, limitless process with the power to affect change. We inspire people to ask questions, develop hypotheses, conduct experiments, and evaluate evidence in all aspects of their lives.

  • Promote Play. Play is the work of childhood, and all children have the right to play. Our facilities, programs, exhibits, and experiences scaffold play-based learning and are accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities.

  • Dream big. We boldly push ourselves forward, pursuing new ideas and challenges. We are not afraid to experiment and learn from our failures as we seek to inspire purpose, spark imagination, and encourage hope.

Nano - Permanent exhibit exploring the science behind nanotechnology and how we use it in our daily lives.
